ProjectWork and Claude AI assistant

Discuss your project planning

ProjectWork already helps you manage projects with Gantt charts, resource leveling, and critical path calculations in the cloud. Now you can ask Claude (from Anthropic) about your schedules directly — no clicking through panels, no digging through charts. Just ask.

The ProjectWork MCP server connects Claude to your live ProjectWork schedules stored in Google Drive, so you can get instant answers about your projects in plain language through Claude's Large Language Model. MCP is an open protocol that also works with ChatGPT or agentic frameworks.

You can work with ProjectWork in the browser and in Claude simultaneously. Claude can supply you a weblink to open a schedule in the browser or Claude can find the schedule you are currently working on.

What you can do today

With the functions of today you can analyze and report on your ProjectWork schedules:

  • Jump straight into your latest project
Ask "what's the status of my project?" and Claude pulls up the file you last worked on — no need to specify which one.
  • Search across all your schedules
Looking for a specific project? Claude can search your ProjectWork files by name, owner, or creation and modification date.
  • Get an instant project summary
Ask for an overview and get the essentials at a glance: owner, start and end dates, progress, budget, work hours, and task and resource counts.
  • See your full task breakdown
Claude can list every task in a schedule — names, dates, durations, dependencies, progress, and whether a task sits on the critical path.
  • Check your resource plan
Get a complete view of the people, equipment, and materials assigned to a project, including capacity, cost, and progress per resource.
  • Spot overallocated resources before they become a problem
Claude can flag resources that are scheduled beyond their capacity — whether it's a single task that's too heavy or several tasks that add up to more than a resource can handle. Catch scheduling conflicts before they slow your project down.
  • Filter your view on demand
Ask Claude to show only the tasks that matter right now. The filter applies directly in the ProjectWork web app, visible to everyone sharing the schedule.

What's next

Functions for creating and editing your schedule directly through Claude — adjusting dates, updating progress, reassigning resources — are in the pipeline. You will not need templates anymore that you tailor to your needs, your dedicated schedule is made from the start.

How to connect

No need for API software integrations anymore, you connect in minutes:

  1. In Claude, go to Settings → Connectors and click Add custom connector.
  2. Give it a name (e.g. "ProjectWork") and paste in the ProjectWork MCP server URL: https://projectwork.forscale.nl/ai/mcp.
  3. Click Add, then click Connect next to the new connector to complete the Google sign-in.
  4. In any chat, click the "Add files, connectors, and more" icon and enable ProjectWork — Claude can now access your schedules.

A free version of Claude is sufficient to experience this new AI world, with a limited amount of messages per day.
